This website, sideoutjournal.example (the "Site"), and the editorial services offered through it are operated by Sideout Journal S.r.l., an Italian limited-liability company registered in Bologna, with its registered office at Via Marconi 27, 40122 Bologna, Italy. By accessing the Site, creating an account, or subscribing, you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms"), together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Editorial Ethics policy. Together they form the agreement between you and Sideout.
If you are entering into these Terms on behalf of an organization (institutional subscribers), you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization.
You must be at least 16 to create an account. Users below the digital-consent age in their jurisdiction should not create accounts.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity on your account. Notify us at support@sideoutjournal.example if you suspect unauthorized use.
Individual subscriptions are for a single reader. You may not share your login or provide account access to others. Institutional plans exist for teams and organizations.
Subscriptions are billed in advance in EUR through our payment processor, Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. (Ireland). We accept most major credit and debit cards, SEPA direct debit, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current rate. You may cancel automatic renewal at any time from your account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; you retain access until then.
We may adjust subscription prices from time to time. We will notify affected subscribers by email at least 30 days before a price change takes effect. If you do not cancel before the change takes effect, you agree to the new price.
Prices are inclusive of Italian VAT where applicable. For EU consumers outside Italy, VAT is charged at your local rate under the OSS scheme. Business subscribers with a valid VAT number may receive a reverse-charge invoice.
If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a subscription contract within 14 days of purchase without giving a reason.
However, by starting to read paywalled content during that 14-day period, you expressly consent to immediate performance of the service and acknowledge that you will lose the right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed. In practice this means: as long as you have not read any paywalled article, you can withdraw and receive a full refund within 14 days. Once you have accessed paywalled content, the right of withdrawal no longer applies to that already-consumed portion.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, email support@sideoutjournal.example with your account email and order reference.
Outside of the statutory withdrawal right, we offer refunds on a discretionary basis, generally where a subscriber has been mis-billed or the service was materially unavailable. Requests: support@sideoutjournal.example.
All editorial content on the Site — articles, photographs, illustrations, video, audio, data, tables, and design elements — is owned by Sideout or licensed to us and is protected by copyright and neighboring rights under Italian, EU, and international law.

Our editorial policy prohibits payment for coverage and requires disclosure of conflicts of interest. Corrections to published articles are logged on the article itself with a timestamp; substantive corrections are noted in the article header. Some articles link to third-party sites (federation pages, tournament sites, other publications, video hosts). We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, policies, or availability.
The Site and our content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Editorial content reflects the author's analysis at the time of publication and may become outdated. Coaching and training material is offered for informational purposes and does not constitute professional coaching or medical advice — consult a qualified coach or physician for individual guidance.
Except as required by mandatory consumer-protection law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sideout's total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the Site will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or, if you are a free reader, EUR 50.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including loss of profits, goodwill, or data.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for gross negligence, for wilful misconduct, or for fraud, and any mandatory consumer-protection rights remain fully preserved.
You agree to indemnify Sideout against third-party claims arising from your breach of these Terms, your infringement of third-party rights, or your unlawful use of the Site.
These Terms are governed by Italian law. Any dispute arising from these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bologna, Italy — except that, if you are a consumer resident in the EU, UK, or Switzerland, you may bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence, and the mandatory consumer-protection law of that country will apply where more favorable.
ODR platform. EU consumers may also access the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified to registered users by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Site after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
Entire agreement. These Terms, with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Editorial Ethics, are the entire agreement between you and us.
Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
